  Dear Pastor,
  
  Thank you for meeting with me yesterday evening.  You seemed quite genuine and were a good listener.  I did further research and it turns out that I went to the wrong church.  I was looking for South Charlotte Baptist Church (Pastor Campbell).   I know I stated that I'd attend services this Sunday however, as I drove home I became more and more sick to my stomach. I will not be returning.
  
  I was looking for a place to worship God, my Father, with good Christian men whose character reflected the compassion and love of Christ. I have never gone to a church, in the 55 years of my life (and I’ve been to churches all over this country and in Europe), where I was interrogated and blocked entry into my Father's house.  Tyler couldn't get rid of me fast enough.  In a definitively not so welcome manner, I was questioned by your son (as he physically  blocked me from entering the building):
  
  ·        Is there something I can help you with?
  ·        Why are you here?
  ·        What do you do for work? (I informed I was a sr executive at a global bank hoping I'd make the cut to gain entry)
  ·        Are you Baptist?
  ·        Pastor is busy right now, come back Sunday.
  ·        Are you from around here?
  
  I insisted that I’d wait to meet Pastor and introduce myself as I was there because someone left a flyer on my door and I was indeed looking for a house of worship..  I'm not clear as to what is happening there in your community, but when your pastoral staff feels the need subject strangers to an on the spot vetting interrogation and then turn away brothers in Christ for whatever reason, it's time to a good look at oneself.
  
  I'm not angry, just feelings of "what just happened?" and a little bit of hurt - but I'll pray for my shortcomings and for a thicker skin.  It is my hope that our Father leads all of us to glory together.
  
  May the Lord bless you and keep you, may the Lord make his face to shine upon you, may the Lord look upon you all with favor and give you peace.
